John Seyal is a multidisciplinary visual and performance artist born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his BFA in Photography and Art History from Ohio University in 2009. While digital photography is his medium of choice, John also produces drawing, painting, sculpture, videography, and multimedia installations. During his time at Ohio University, John met the woman who would become his wife: fellow artist, Kait Whistler. They were married in 2010.

In 2012, John and Kait embarked on a long-term volunteer/performance/social sculpture that became known as Dog Walk Across America 2012. Combining their love of dogs, travel, and volunteerism, they set out to walk across America to raise awareness for pet rescue and animal-assisted therapy. Over a period of eight months they walked 3,088 miles from Lewes, Delaware to Long Beach, California with their therapy-certified dogs, volunteering at more than 40 facilities nationwide. They documented their trip in photos and written words at www.dogblogusa.com.

John currently lives in Louisville, KY with his wife Kait Whistler Seyal and their three dogs. Together they own and operate Good Job Dogs, LLC specializing in service and therapy dog training and education.
